BROOKLINE. This Brookline sports bar is a favorite with the local college set. It's known for its plenteous supply of American-style eats and walls lined with TV's. You're sure to find something here to suite your fancy-even if it's simply a meal and drink at the Atlas Bar and Grill, located on the first floor of this three-story hangout.

BACK BAY. This sports bar and lounge is a favorite hang-out with many Back Bay residents. It's a great stop for singles and offers a menu of expertly prepared drinks, plus traditional appetizers and pub food. Visitors can engage in a friendly round of pool or opt for a game of bowling! Kings features 16 regulation-sized lanes and, as such, is a popular destination. The lounge, stocked with video games, entertains folks waiting for a lane or just in for drinks.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT. Striking and expansive, McFadden's is a popular one-stop destination for watching sports, devouring a meal, downing beer and carousing with buddies. High ceilings, a long bar, flat screen TV and beautiful dark wood décor and the eerie vault lounge is adorned with metal gates, blue lighting and round ottomons. Thanks to the busy kitchen, diners munch on shepherd's pie, grilled fish, teriyaki chicken and a plethora of pub grub.

CAMBRIDGE. This dynamic duo adds a bit of old school class to the Cambridge scene. On the one hand is Wish, a charming (if snug) Italian-American eatery with candlelit tables and an attractive bar area ­ a great first date spot, to be sure. Here, the delicious wood-grilled pizzas and pastas serve as perfect complements to the well-composed wine list. The neighboring Tavern, meanwhile, offers a modern take on the neighborhood pub concept, one that features eight flat screen TVs, fabulous Sunday brunches, ever-popular "pub quiz" Mondays and DJ-led dance parties. The Tavern scene is most definitely laid back, and the daily beer specials are listed on a chalk board behind the bar.
